A demo of the intravenous to oral antibiotic switch clinical decision support system with case vignettes. It was built to study how clinicians involved in antibiotic prescribing interact with such a system and whether AI predictions influence their decisions.
This is the system used in the Lancet Digital Health study The impact of artificial intelligence-driven decision support on uncertain antimicrobial prescribing, in which 42 UK clinicians worked through the case vignettes with and without the AI recommendations and explanations. The underlying model is described in Personalising intravenous to oral antibiotic switch decision making through fair interpretable machine learning (Nature Communications).
